5: ADJECTIVE VERSION
PURPOSE
The
FOCUS series of five personality questionnaires was
developed on-line for the remote assessment of personality
across National boundaries.

DESCRIPTION
The
FOCUS series capitalises on advances in access to the
Internet and on-line testing to provide a range of measures
for worldwide use which have been designed and standardised
on the Internet. All versions have international and
country specific norm tables. The series is also available
in pencil & paper.
The five FOCUS questionnaires vary in length and specific
emphases.
FOCUS
5A is an alternative which measures the same constructs
as FOCUS 5 but items are presented as adjectives rather
than statements.
The
FOCUS series meets the technical standards for a modern
psychometric instrument covering utility and psychometric
properties specified by the European Federation of Psychologists
Association (EFPA).
RELIABILITY
Internal consistency reliability range from .75 to .92. Standard Error of Difference are around 6 so a difference of around 12 or more raw scores constitutes a real difference. This is equivalent to a difference of 3 stens.
VALIDITY
Scale intercorrelations range from .02 and .53. Highest correlations are between Conscientiousness and Emotional Stability, and Extraversion and Emotional Stability.
Criterion related validity: Conscientiousness shows the strongest relationship with job performance (.35) Emotional Stability (.25) Extraversion (.23) Agreeableness (.17) Openness to Experience (.08
