FOCUS Creativity
PURPOSE
The
FOCUS series of five personality questionnaires was
developed on-line for the remote assessment of personality
across National boundaries.

DESCRIPTION
Based on Adaption-Innovation theory, FOCUS Creativity measures an individual's style of creativity and problem solving. It is a normative questionnaire with 50 statement items.
SCALES
Originality - generating creative ideas
Risk-Taking - thinking outside the box
Adaptability - staying abreast of new developments
Assertiveness - selling ideas and persuading others
Achievement - achieving results
Creative Style - generating solutions and solving problems
The report provides an individualised analysis of the test-taker's profile across the five factors and the implications for his or her creative style. Developmental suggestions are also provided
RELIABILITY
Internal Consistency reliability for the questionnaire as a whole is .92. Median reliability is .78.
Standard Error of Measurement scores range between 2.81 to 2.89 across the scales.
Standard Error of Difference are all around 4. A difference of around 8 of more raw scores constitutes a real difference. This is equivalent to a difference of 3 stens.
VALIDITY
Interscale correlations range from .26 to .70. Highest correlations are between Originality and Risk-Taking and Originality and Adaptability. The lowest correlations are between Achievement and Risk-Taking.
Construct validity: the Kirton Adaptation Inventory (KAI) and FOCUS Creativity show 'Total Score' correlations at .69. 'Originality' correlates with the KAI 'Originality' (.67) Focus Creativity 'Risk-Taking' correlates with the KAI 'Conformity' scale (.58).
