Introduction

Hogrefe and Cranbrook Solutions believe that training in test use should be delivered by experienced practitioners that provide independent and impartial advice on the range of assessment measures available in the market and that support test user standards for test use.

The Hogrefe-Cranbrook Learning Centre fully supports the British Psychological Society’s objective of improving standards in occupational testing through its Certification Scheme. That scheme provides an agreed set of standards relating to an individual’s ability to:

• Use tests fairly and effectively within one or more of the tests’ areas of application covered by the Society’s Division of Occupational Psychology.

• Adhere to the Codes of Practice and professional conduct defined by the Society.


Three levels of qualification have been set up by the BPS:

Level 1: The BPS Certificate of Competence in BPS Test Administration – deals with best practice administration of both ability and personality measures.

Level 2: The BPS Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing BPS Level A – deals specifically with tests of aptitude and ability.

Level 3: The BPS Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing BPS Level B – deals with the assessment and theory of personality.

  • Our training course prices are extremely competitive and difficult to beat. We allow 3 to 4 days for the Level A & B courses, as we strongly believe that individuals need time to absorb the statistical concepts involved in Level A and the many personality traits explored in Level B.
  • In relation to the course price participants receive far more tuition than most other BPS Level A & B courses.
  • Our BPS Level B course focuses on the UK version of the NEO PI-R which is based on the Big Five.  There are 1000's of studies demonstrating that NEO is very predictive for work performance. 
  • We offer a 2 day workshop in the the use of the NEO PI-R for those practitioners who are already trained to BPS Level B standard but would like to use an additional personality measure.
